Year 11 English Advanced
Make the jump to senior English with confidence — the Year 11 Advanced common module and modules A and B — building the close-reading and essay skills the HSC demands, in Blacktown.
What we cover

Common questions
My marks dropped moving into senior English — is that normal?
It's very common — senior English asks for analysis and sophisticated writing, not just comprehension. We rebuild those skills explicitly so the jump stops feeling so steep.
How does Year 11 English Advanced build the skills needed for the HSC?
The Preliminary year is about developing transferable technique — close reading, structured analysis and essay writing — rather than studying any single text in isolation. The skills built in Year 11 directly underpin all four Year 12 modules.
What does the Narratives that Shape our World module involve?
Students analyse how narratives are constructed across different forms — novels, films, speeches — and what choices authors make to shape meaning and influence an audience. We teach literary analysis technique through these texts so the skill applies beyond any one example.
How big are the classes?
Classes are kept small — between 1 and 5 students — so every student gets personal attention and their questions actually get answered each lesson. Prefer one-on-one? Private 1:1 sessions are available on request.
Can I try a class before enrolling?
Yes. Your first trial class is completely free, with no payment details required. If it's not the right fit, there's no obligation.
Where are classes held?
In person at our Blacktown centre on Main Street — easily reached from Seven Hills, Quakers Hill, Woodcroft, Marayong, Kings Langley, Doonside, Lalor Park and Rooty Hill.
