Your child attends a class where they get the full Lux Tuition experience with teaching, worksheets, and homework provided. They just need to bring themselves and a pencil case. They can see for themselves if our method is helpful for them.

Our tutors will assess your child's ability as they teach them in the trial class. This allows you to experience our style rather than just taking an assessment test. You can also email us any of your child's reports and past assessments to help us personalise our tutoring approach to your child's unique needs.

English and Maths for Years 3–12 (including Selective preparation), and HSC Chemistry, Physics and Biology for Years 11 and 12. All classes are aligned to the NSW NESA syllabus.

Yes, we use the same NESA curriculum. All the content we teach is syllabus-aligned and the same as the topics covered by school.

Yes. We align with the NSW school calendar but you can join mid-term at any time — we'll prorate the fees and help your child catch up on anything missed.

Classes are kept small — between 1 and 5 students. That means real questions get answered and every student gets personal attention each lesson.

All classes are arranged per year, so your child learns in a supportive environment with peers at their level and the tutor can focus on teaching topics that everyone is going through.

Our classes are per year. Students will not be taught content at a higher level unless they enrol in a higher year level.

Yes. Alongside our small-group classes of 1–5 students, we offer Lux One Sessions — private one-on-one (1:1) tutoring at $100/hour for students who want fully individual attention or targeted help before an exam, with 24/7 tutor support over WhatsApp. Contact us or send a free trial enquiry and we'll arrange it.

Every lesson follows a consistent, cognitive-science-based structure: retrieval practice, explicit instruction, guided then independent practice, an exit test, and spaced homework. We teach exam technique alongside content.

Yes, homework is a part of our lesson design to ensure that students deepen their understanding of what they learn in class. Students are rewarded with tokens for completing their homework which they can use for prizes.

We have up to two tests each term to assess how well students have learnt the content and to look for weak spots to work on.

Homework Club is an optional weekly session at the centre where students bring in their school homework and our tutors are on hand to help them work through it. Our token rewards program runs across all classes — every student earns a token for handing in homework — but Homework Club adds bonus ways to earn: setting and achieving work goals, and completing challenges like beating a tutor at chess. Tokens are redeemed for prizes from our prize cabinet or a spin of the prize wheel. Sessions run for two hours at $10/hour ($20 per session), on top of the standard hourly rate.

Every student earns a token for handing in their homework — it's part of every class at no extra cost. Tokens add up and can be redeemed for prizes from our prize cabinet, or spent on a spin of the prize wheel. Students in our optional Homework Club can earn bonus tokens by setting and achieving work goals and completing challenges.

Let us know in advance and we'll arrange a make-up session. We don't charge for planned absences with 48 hours' notice.

We are fully compliant with all Working With Children Check regulations with all tutors having a WWCC. Each room of the centre is monitored via CCTV for your peace of mind.

Our flat rate is $40 per hour — a standard 1.5-hour class is $60, billed per fortnight. All materials, homework marking and progress reports are included.

You have the option of paying fortnightly or for the whole term up front. We accept all major payment options including card.

No. Our rate is a flat $40/hour, published on our pricing page — there's no registration fee, assessment fee, or extra charge for materials, homework marking or progress reports. The only optional add-on is Homework Club at $20 per session. We also offer discounts for referrals, multiple subjects, siblings and paying upfront.

We're based in Blacktown and welcome families from across the area — Seven Hills, Quakers Hill, Woodcroft, Marayong, Kings Langley, Doonside, Lalor Park, Rooty Hill and Penrith.
