Year 12 HSC Biology
Master Modules 5–8 of HSC Biology — heredity, genetic change and disease — with structured note-building, past-paper practice and exam-response technique, in Blacktown.
What we cover
Aligned to the NSW NESA HSC Biology syllabus. Modules 5–8 are content-heavy and application-focused — we build concise, exam-ready notes and drill the extended-response writing markers want.
Heredity
Reproduction, DNA, inheritance and the cellular processes that pass on genetic information.
Genetic Change
Mutation, biotechnology and genetic technologies — and their effect on biodiversity and society.
Infectious Disease
Pathogens, transmission, immunity and the prevention and control of infectious disease.
Non-infectious Disease and Disorders
Causes of non-infectious disease, epidemiology, and technologies that treat disorders of homeostasis.
Taught by someone who's done it.
Every class follows the same structure.
Based on cognitive science — it minimises load and builds durable understanding and exam confidence.
Class review
Rapid retrieval practice of past concepts — active recall to beat the forgetting curve.
Explicit instruction
Theory broken into the smallest parts, taught in simple, consistent language.
Guided practice
Worked examples together, tutor scaffolding fading as competence grows.
Independent practice
Exam-style questions with instant feedback, so errors are caught before they stick.
Exit test
A short end-of-class check on retention; targeted homework where needed.
Homework
Weekly consolidation that moves class learning into long-term memory.
Simple, transparent fees
Common questions
How do you help with the extended-response questions?
We map common question stems to structured answers, practise against NESA marking guidelines, and teach students to use precise biological terminology under time pressure.
What are the four modules in Year 12 HSC Biology?
Modules 5–8 cover Heredity, Genetic Change, Infectious Disease, and Non-infectious Disease and Disorders. They move from the molecular basis of inheritance through to immunology, pathogens and modern treatment technologies.
How does the HSC Biology exam test understanding rather than memory?
NESA's modern exam rewards students who can apply biological concepts to unfamiliar scenarios — not just recall definitions. We prepare students to reason biologically under pressure, which is what separates Band 5 and Band 6 responses.
How big are the classes?
Classes are kept small — between 1 and 5 students — so every student gets personal attention and their questions actually get answered each lesson. Prefer one-on-one? Private 1:1 sessions are available on request.
Can I try a class before enrolling?
Yes. Your first trial class is completely free, with no payment details required. If it's not the right fit, there's no obligation.
Where are classes held?
In person at our Blacktown centre on Main Street — easily reached from Seven Hills, Quakers Hill, Woodcroft, Marayong, Kings Langley, Doonside, Lalor Park and Rooty Hill.
