Your privacy, in plain English.

What we collect

When you submit one of our forms — a contact enquiry, a free-trial enquiry, an enrolment, or a study-guide download — we collect the details you enter: parent and/or student name, phone number, email address, school and year level. The form on our free OC practice test asks for less again: a parent or carer's first name, their email address, and optionally the student's school year. We don't build an advertising profile of you. We do keep general data on how the site is used and how people find their way to it — for example, which pages get visited and what link or campaign led someone here — alongside the analytics described further down this page.

The OC practice test: what stays on your device

The practice test keeps your child's work in their own browser, using its local storage — the first name they type on the welcome screen, their answers, their flagged questions and how much time is left. If a parent fills in the form that opens the rest of the test, the browser also keeps the email address entered and the access code it was issued, so the test stays open on that device. None of it leaves the browser except as described here, and it all stays until the browser's site data is cleared. Answers do go to our server to be marked — they travel with the name of the paper being sat and, once the rest of the test has been opened, the access code; the free first questions are marked without any code at all. Marked answers are not stored. That access code, which is also what the emailed link carries, holds a one-way hash of the email address rather than the address itself, so a code can be checked without our keeping a record of who used it.

Why we collect it

Purely to do the thing you asked for: reply to your enquiry, arrange a free trial or enrolment, or send the resource or practice-test access link you requested. We don't use your details for anything you haven't asked us to do.

How it's handled

Form submissions are sent as an email to our team via Resend, our email delivery provider, and a copy — including the usage and arrival data described above — is also saved to our own internal dashboard, so we can see it alongside past enquiries. The submission itself isn't added to any marketing list unless you ask for it: on the study guide and the OC practice test, ticking the opt-in box adds your email address to a mailing list we keep with Resend as well. That's set out in the next section. Nothing is shared with data brokers, and we don't sell or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing. A small number of staff at Lux Tuition can see what you've submitted, purely to respond to it.

Study tips & OC preparation emails

Two of our forms offer to email you: the free study guide (study tips) and the OC practice test (OC preparation tips). Both boxes start unticked, and both forms work exactly the same whether or not you tick them — the practice test opens either way, and the study guide is emailed to you either way. Ticking either box adds your email address to a mailing list we hold with Resend, our email provider. For the OC practice test that happens only once you've opened the link we email you, which is how we confirm the address is really yours. If you tick the OC box, the first four emails arrive over roughly your first month on the list, spaced about a week apart to start with, each one covering a single part of getting a Year 4 child ready for the test. After that you'll get the occasional email with study or preparation advice, nothing else, and never more than a few a term. Alongside your email address we record your first name, when you opted in, and the wording you agreed to. Every one of them includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and we'll take you off the list the moment you ask, no matter how you ask.

Access, correction & deletion

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time, subject to the Clarity limit explained below. Email hello@luxtuition.com.au and we'll sort it out — usually within a few business days. That includes taking your address off our mailing list and deleting it from Resend, and removing your submission from our internal dashboard, if the unsubscribe link in an email isn't convenient. Anything the OC practice test saved in your browser is yours to delete directly: clearing the site data for luxtuition.com.au in your browser settings removes your child's name, answers and progress, along with any saved email address and access code, from the device.

Information about students

Where a form is about a student rather than the person filling it in, that information is provided by — and handled through — the student's parent or guardian. We treat it with the same care as any other personal information on this page.

Cookies & analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site is used — things like which pages are visited, device type, general location, and how far people progress through our forms. Form analytics records section labels and completion steps, not anything typed or selected in the fields. GA4 sets cookies and collects usage data as described in Google's Privacy Policy . This data doesn't personally identify you, and we don't use it for advertising. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We also use Microsoft Clarity on the main website to see how visitors navigate and interact with pages, including session recordings and heatmaps. Clarity masks form entries; we do not run it on the OC practice test. Microsoft explains its data handling in its Privacy Statement . Microsoft says an individual visitor's Clarity data cannot be deleted separately; deleting it requires deleting the entire Clarity project. Most session recordings are retained for 30 days; favourites and a random sample can remain for up to nine months. Clearing cookies removes identifiers from your browser but does not stop Clarity collecting page views and interactions. A browser content blocker that blocks Clarity's script prevents it from running on future visits.
