Year 11 Chemistry
Build rock-solid foundations across Modules 1–4 of the NSW Preliminary Chemistry syllabus, taught in Blacktown by tutors who scored 95+ ATAR and know exactly where Year 11 students get stuck.
What we cover
Every lesson is aligned to the NSW NESA syllabus. Year 11 lays the groundwork for the HSC — we make sure Modules 1–4 are genuinely understood, not just memorised, so Year 12 is far less stressful.
Properties & Structure of Matter
Atomic structure, periodic trends, bonding models and intermolecular forces — the bedrock of all chemistry that follows.
Introduction to Quantitative Chemistry
The mole concept, stoichiometry and solution chemistry — calculation-heavy topics broken into a clear, repeatable method.
Reactive Chemistry
Rates of reaction, the activity series, metals, acids and predicting reactions through a consistent framework.
Drivers of Reactions
Energy changes, enthalpy and entropy — why reactions happen, building the intuition Year 12 equilibrium relies on.
Taught by someone who's done it.

Meet the whole teamEvery class follows the same structure.
Based on cognitive science — it minimises load and builds durable understanding and exam confidence.
Class review
Rapid retrieval practice of past concepts — active recall to beat the forgetting curve.
Explicit instruction
Theory broken into the smallest parts, taught in simple, consistent language.
Guided practice
Worked examples together, tutor scaffolding fading as competence grows.
Independent practice
Exam-style questions with instant feedback, so errors are caught before they stick.
Exit test
A short end-of-class check on retention; targeted homework where needed.

Common questions
Should I start Chemistry tutoring in Year 11?
Yes — getting ahead on Modules 1–4 makes the HSC year significantly less stressful. The foundations from Year 11 (especially the mole concept and bonding) are assumed knowledge in Year 12.
What are the main topics covered in Year 11 Preliminary Chemistry?
The course covers four modules — Properties of Matter, Quantitative Chemistry, Reactive Chemistry, and Drivers of Reactions. These form the essential foundation for all HSC Chemistry content in Year 12.
Do students need any prior chemistry background before joining?
No formal prior study is required. We check each student's starting point at the beginning and fill any foundational gaps quickly — most students coming from junior science are well-prepared for the Preliminary content.
How big are the classes?
Classes are kept small — between 1 and 5 students — so every student gets personal attention and their questions actually get answered each lesson. Prefer one-on-one? Private 1:1 sessions are available on request.
Can I try a class before enrolling?
Yes. Your first trial class is completely free, with no payment details required. If it's not the right fit, there's no obligation.
Where are classes held?
In person at our Blacktown centre on Main Street — easily reached from Seven Hills, Quakers Hill, Woodcroft, Marayong, Kings Langley, Doonside, Lalor Park and Rooty Hill.
