What HSC coaching at Lux covers.
Classes have 1 to 5 in-person students. Hybrid classes can include another 1 to 5 online students (up to 10 total). Each 1.5-hour lesson teaches the next part of the NESA syllabus, then puts it to work on exam-style questions, so the HSC itself is not the first time a student meets a hard question.
HSC Chemistry
Year 12 works through Modules 5 to 8: equilibrium and acid reactions, acid/base reactions, organic chemistry and applying chemical ideas. Each module is taught step by step, then tested against past HSC questions, because the exam rewards applying ideas to unfamiliar data rather than reciting them.
HSC English
For the 2026 HSC, English Advanced and Standard cover the Common Module (Texts and Human Experiences) and Modules A, B and C. From Term 4 2026, students preparing for the 2027 HSC follow the new syllabus’s focus areas. Students practise against past papers, and essays and creative pieces come back marked, with model responses to compare against.
HSC Maths
Maths Advanced and Extension 1 are taught topic by topic, from functions and trigonometry to calculus, financial maths and statistics, with full worked solutions to check against. Once a topic is secure, students drill exam-style questions and full past papers.
HSC Physics and Biology
Both sciences follow the same pattern as Chemistry: each Year 11 and 12 module taught clearly, then practised against exam-style questions, including the longer written responses where students have to explain their reasoning.

Is HSC coaching different from HSC tutoring?
The two words describe the same thing, and we use them interchangeably. At Lux, HSC coaching means small-group classes with 1–5 in person and up to 5 additional online students that teach the syllabus content and then practise it against past HSC questions, with marked feedback each week.
Can my child try an HSC class before we commit?
