Common questions
Should my child do Advanced or Standard English?
We can help you decide. After seeing your child's analytical writing we'll give an honest recommendation — and we tutor both Advanced and Standard from Year 11.
How does Year 10 English tutoring prepare students for the jump to Year 11?
We focus on timed essay writing and analytical close reading — exactly what Year 11 demands. Students who arrive in Year 11 already writing structured analytical paragraphs have a significant head start.
Do you cover the Year 10 texts set at school or just general skills?
Both — we work with whatever texts your school has set and build the analytical toolkit alongside it. The techniques we teach (identifying language, explaining effect, linking to theme) apply to any text in any year.
How big are the classes?
Classes are kept small — between 1 and 5 students — so every student gets personal attention and their questions actually get answered each lesson. Prefer one-on-one? Private 1:1 sessions are available on request.
Can I try a class before enrolling?
Yes. Your first trial class is completely free, with no payment details required. If it's not the right fit, there's no obligation.
Where are classes held?
In person at our Blacktown centre on Main Street — easily reached from Seven Hills, Quakers Hill, Woodcroft, Marayong, Kings Langley, Doonside, Lalor Park and Rooty Hill.
